The Franschhoek (a proud member of The Last Word Retreats and The Mantis Collection) is an exclusive five star historic residence situated right in the heart of this charming and picturesque village in the Cape Winelands. The private and peaceful setting is only minutes walk from many excellent award-winning restaurants, numerous character-filled, boutique style shops and art galleries. Franschhoek is the utopia for food and wine lovers with a number of the restaurants being in the top ten in South Africa. The region has numerous activities to offer, the most famous being the world-class wine estates and visits for tastings and cellar tours are a must. The valley is also the idyllic setting for walking trails, hiking, cycling, bird watching, horse riding and fly-fishing. Golfing enthusiasts are well catered for with several championship golf courses close by.

Beautifully restored in the Cape Huguenot tradition, The Franschhoek has been designed with sumptuous home comforts creating an elegant, sophisticated interior with a handsome mixture of classic and contemporary furnishings. A wooden decked balcony affords spectacular views across the mountains ? the perfect spot for a sundowner!

The six luxurious double rooms open onto a small shaded garden and a swimming pool is situated in front of the lounge and main breakfast area. All have en-suite bathrooms with double marble vanities and generous baths to be shared by candlelight for the ultimate in romance, air-conditioning, under-floor heating, heated towel rails, satellite TV and private safes.
